For this year's Affordable Art Fair, Halliday is showing some of his abstract work. Halliday's abstract paintings are suggested by music since he is interested in synesthesia or the relationship between painting and music.

Halliday lectured with David Hockney on this subject in Los Angeles a few years ago during the International Contemporary Art Fair.

At the Frankfurt Festival he painted lagre musical canvases in association with concert pianist and conductor Vladimir Ashkenazy.
