Fifi Charrington
Charrington's current work is semi-abstract, in which she seeks to convey the essence of a place through observation of colour, light and structure.
After a degree at Bristol University in History of Art and Theology, she completed catalogues of contents of two cathedrals and an abbey. This work taught her to record the essential elements of an object with the critical eye which she now uses in her recording of a landscape.
She has been inspired by the paints of Nicholas de Stael, Ivon Hitchens and Richard Diebenkorn and by the Fauves' use of colour.
She has exhibited at:
Mall Galleries (London),
Stockbridge Gallery (Hampshire),
Mill Gallery (Lechlade),
Merriscourt Gallery (Oxford) and
Rosvik Gallery (Wiltshire).
