Review of The Affordable Art Fair, Spring Collection 2008.
The Dadbrook Gallery had a very successful time at the AAF in Battersea this year. The attendance figures broke all records, approximately 22,500 visited the Fair over the 4 days with overall sales topping over £5 million.
The following artists were shown on the Dadbrook Gallery stand: Alex Allpress, ceramicist, whose pieces sold out, Alan Halliday whose landscapes and seascapes were universally admired and sold astonishingly well. Gallery newcomer Fifi Charrington, whose jewel-like images were snapped up by discerning collectors and Qu Lei Lei, whose nude studies also sold out.
It was the first time the work of Lu Yuwei had been shown in the UK and the gallery is honoured to be chosen as her sole representative in this country. Her work in Shanghai and Italy is collected avidly. She is a young artist with an exciting future. See more about her on the Artists page.
Caroline Deane, an artist who visited the Dadbrook Gallery stand, said, 'It was one of the best hung in the entire Fair' another visitor described it as a 'beautiful gold fish amongst the sharks!'
Many thanks to everyone who helped make it such a success.
